Internal Translational Research Award Winners

Four Translational Research Awards headed by GRU Cancer Center clinical and scientific collaborators were selected for funding. The four winning projects were selected by an eight-member committee from among 27 submissions.
▪ Yukai He, MD, PhD, Edward J. Kruse, DO, FACS, and Todd D. Merchen, MD: “Activating hAFP and hGPC3 specific immune responses to prevent HCC.”
▪ Kebin Liu, PhD, Asha Nayak-Kapoor, MD, and Wendy Bollag, PhD, FAHA: “Apoptosis resistance and MDSC persistence in CRC Patients.”
▪ Mingqiang (Ming) Ren, PhD, and Vamsi Kota, MD: “Molecular targeting therapy of AML by ponatinib.”
▪ Huidong Shi, PhD, and Farrukh T. Awan, MD: “Targeting PI3K/mTOR signaling in treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia.”
