He Receives UGA-GRU Seed Grant

Yukai He, MD, PhD, received a $25K UGA-GRU seed grant for “Next generation vaccine technology to overcome helminth-induced immune suppression.”

Project Description: This UGA-GRU collaborative grant is proposed to develop an innovative immunization approach to generate potent antigen-specific immune responses in severely immune suppressive conditions that are often found in patients with parasite infection and with late stage tumors. We are integrating our lentiviral vector vaccines with a nanoparticle-based VacSIM™ antigen delivery platform to prime and boost to induce robust immune responses in pre-clinical models in an effort to generate critical data for an NIH grant submission.
